The engineering challenge
The device team was replacing an end-of-life panel on a patient monitor already in hospitals. The new display had to match the existing optical behavior closely enough to avoid re-validating the waveform colors, and it had to remain available for at least five years.

The validated solution
We compared three IPS platforms against the original panel for gamma, white point and viewing-angle shift, then selected the closest match and tuned the backlight driver to the existing firmware curve. The cover glass was chemically strengthened and printed to the original dead-front layout, so the monitor bezel did not need a mechanical change.

The project result
The replacement passed the customer optical validation on the first build and entered pilot production. The panel is now on a five-year supply plan with a last-time-buy window agreed in advance.
