Challenge
An electric forklift instrument needs to present equipment status in a compact area near the steering column. Battery indication, operating mode, accumulated hours and status prompts must be arranged with a clear visual hierarchy. This application concept evaluates the 90-05018-BH1 display module for a 5-inch forklift instrument, with physical buttons handled by the host equipment.

02 / Solution
Solution
An 800 × 480 canvas for vehicle status
The 5-inch LCD provides an 800 × 480 native format and a 108.00 × 64.80 mm active area. The proposed interface places the primary running value in a large field, with battery, mode and hours in secondary fields. Values and prompts originate from the vehicle controller and host software. The LCD does not perform vehicle sensing, battery estimation or control logic.
Proposed UI
| UI field | Proposed content |
|---|---|
| Primary | Large running-value field supplied by host |
| Secondary | Battery indication, mode and accumulated hours |
| Status | Host-provided equipment prompts |
| Input | Physical buttons managed by equipment controller |
Contrast and viewing position around the steering column
The optical table lists 1200:1 typical contrast, 1000:1 minimum contrast and typical 80° viewing angles in each direction at CR ≥10. These values support a review of text, icons and mounting angle. The panel has a 55% typical NTSC ratio and a 30 ms typical response time, with 40 ms maximum. Final readability depends on the completed enclosure, cover reflections and ambient light and should be checked on a prototype.
Match the RGB interface and current driver revision
The module uses a parallel 24-bit RGB interface. Revision B, dated April 15, 2026, identifies the display driver as ST72611 following a driver IC replacement. The host should be reviewed against this revision for timing, reset behavior and startup configuration. The nominal module outline is 120.70 × 75.80 × 2.90 mm. A 3.3 V typical LCD logic supply and a separate LED backlight circuit must be considered in the power design.

Result
This configuration combines a compact 5-inch landscape format, specified optical characteristics and an RGB host connection for electric forklift instrument development. The specified operating and storage ranges are both −30°C to +80°C. These are module limits; prototype evaluation must confirm the actual installation temperature, electrical behavior and mechanical mounting. Displaysell supplies the display integration scope; the forklift driver station is an application illustration.
